Updating icod codeword 11 31
To date, I've declined any such 'kind' invitations to do so.
I hope this helps you decide what's going on with your computer when you do get XP "updates" from Microsoft.
Question: If Windows XP support has stopped, why am I still getting updates?
I thought Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP?!
For those of you who donated for the porting effort, you can get an experimental alpha version here (link removed).
Please note that for now, the only aspects which were tuned are the ones that prevented the tweaker from loading at all (some technical information can be found here).
When finished, all your cross-references should now reflect the new numbering sequences.
NOTE: Sometimes you have to repeat these steps and update a second time to get them to all update correctly.

I don't allow them to install because I think someone has highjacked the Windows installation site and might be installing malware or a virus on my computer. I, too, still use XP (Pro), and I've noticed that when I do get a Microsoft 'update' notice, now-a-days, it's usually to do an update for MS-Defender, (I think they call it or used to call it..), which is Microsoft anti-virus/anti-malware's program.
I'm wondering if other people are experiencing the same thing. It just wants to update it's virus signature database. But ALWAYS, ALWAYS check to see whose - and what - updates are being presented to me to be download to my computer, rather than letting them "automatically" install themselves...!!!
Typically, the reason is that you’ve forgotten to update the TOC/LOT/LOF – these lists don’t update automatically.
There are several ways you can update these lists, but the safest way that seems to work properly every time, is to use the ‘Update Table’ buttons on the References tab in Word.
